The Apple iOS Diagnostics team is looking for an Embedded iOS Engineer Intern. You will write software that tests hardware and/or software that automates and enhances our capabilities. Your software lives in userland, outside the kernel. You will mostly work on unreleased
products. Depending on the course of your internship you will develop software solutions for iPhone/iPod/iPad/Apple Watch/Apple TV, create tools used by different teams within the company, and interact with Contract Manufacturers (CMs).

Description
As an Embedded iOS Engineering Intern you will have opportunities to create new tools for our team or contribute directly to internal software running on all of Apple’s current and future iOS devices. There are different opportunities depending on your skillset and strengths:
? Developing cloud and web software to automate hardware failure analysis and analyze data
? Developing and debugging software which tests hardware
? Triaging and debugging hardware and software issues on iOS devices
? Supporting hardware development builds locally

Requirements
? Proficient in at least one of: Objective-C, C/C++, Python, Swift
? Objective-C/Swift and Cocoa knowledge is highly desired but not required
? Verbal and written English communication (don’t be afraid to apply!)
? Experience developing Embedded Systems is highly desired but not required
? Experience debugging OS and hardware interaction a plus
? Unix command line experience
? Development experience on Unix, Linux, or macOS is desired
