Job Qualification
Job typically requires a college degree in a engineering field or applied sciences. IT Engineers typically require a college degree in computer engineering or computer science. Engineers in IT typically work with hardware and network connectivity instead of computer programming (which is done by Programmer/Analyst or Systems. Analyst classifications).
Job Description
Conceives and develops solutions to engineering programs through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures.
Responsible for technical support . Typical duties: Establishes operating equipment specifications, improves manufacturing techniques, and introduces new process equipment to production. Interfaces with product design and development to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.
Additional Job Requirement by manager
1. Personality that can respond to quick and continuous changes, meaning flexible/adaptable, cope up with fast changes.
2. Solid knowledge in engineering (for example using a systematic approach in problem solving using engineering concepts, etc.).
3. English language capability to be able to communicate (verbally and written) with American counterparts.
4. Good communication skills and leadership (for Senior Engineer position).
5. Experience/knowledge in Hard Disc Drive (HDD) is an advantage.
