DEPARTMENT
ECT is the database of record for Reuters fundamental and reference data, and its historical data makes up a core part of key Reuters products such as 3000Xtra.
TEAM
The aim of the ECT Implementation team is to manage and coordinate activities within in ECT environments. This is managed using the Implementation Schedule, a MS Excel based document.
The Implementation team carries out a wide range of tasks including coordinating software releases through the release life cycle, troubleshooting scheduling requirements with projects, organising resources, ensuring all releases have gone through the relevant quality gates and working closely with development teams in Asia, North America, Bangalore and the UK, as well as ECT Support and Quality Assurance.
The success of this objective would mean that the Implementation Coordinator graduate will be able to manage all Implementation tasks and related activities unsupervised with confidence and professionalism.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day activities surrounding and related to the Implementation Schedule.
The ECT Implementation Project Coordinator takes full accountability of scheduling all software releases, coordinating resources, attending meetings, ensuring projects adhere to the Implementation process and the management of the Implementation Schedule.
On a daily basis the Implementation Coordinator will manage their own workload and all Implementation activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
l Manage the delivery of software releases from Development projects; this involves understanding the project plans of projects, managing conflicts and resources.
l Deal with requests from ECT Development groups for implementation of software releases in a prompt and professional manner.
l Liaise with Operations to coordinate and resource the installation of software into the NDA environments.
l Manage the maintenance window in the implementation schedule so that service is not impacted by scheduling too many releases or releases that might conflict with each other. This also includes ensuring the schedule accurately reflects any service impact.
l Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure that development projects adhere to the software release process.
l Learn and maintain the NDA Release Process as it relates to Implementation and ensure projects follow the same.
l Highlight and flag any potential release conflicts and assist in the management of these conflicts.
l Follow up any outstanding items with the Development projects.
l Maintain the Implementation Schedule on an hourly basis.
l Communicate amendments and keep records of verbal communication with projects.
ERSON SPECIFICATION
EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE
l Educated to degree level or equivalent.
l Have a good understand of fundamental project management methodologies.
EXPERIENCE
l 1-2 years experience in Project Management/Business Management.
l Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment and establishing/maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers.
SKILLS
l Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
l Ability to organise and prioritise workload efficiently.
l Ability to work in team with proactive attitude, and be able to confidently work individually.
l Demonstrate basic project management skills (essential), including time management.
l Excellent organisational, communication and training/mentoring skills.
l Ability to understand and manage changing circumstances and priorities.
l Ability to flag and manage (by engaging the NDA Implementation Project Coordinator) risks and dependencies that impact the Implementation Schedule.
l Ability to work with people at all different levels with confidence and in a professional manner.
l Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships.
l Extreme attention to detail.
l Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills, procedures and approaches.
l Demonstrated ability to meet very short deadlines and multi-task in an extremely fast-paced work environment with little direct supervision.
l Proficient user with experience of: MS Office including MS Visio and MS Project; SharePoint, FrontPage and Outlook.
