Laszlo Studios is the Professional Services team in Laszlo Systems. We are seeking a seasoned, energetic, self-motivated Senior Software Engineer in the SF bay area who has both the client and server side development experience to join us to make an impact within a growing company. We provide consulting and implementation services to assist Laszlos customers to plan, architect, develop and deploy RIA solutions across all industries. We have the top talent in consulting and delivery of RIA Creative Design, Custom Development and Enterprise System Integration services. We have assisted and built many astounding Cinematic User Experience Web solutions for companies ranging in size from small startups to very large enterprises. Every day, we are interacting with new ideas, new solutions & new excitement.
Responsibilities
* Participate in pre-sales technical requirements and project scoping discussions as needed.
* Architect & design Rich Internet Application solutions and systems.
* Design & build rich internet applications mainly using LZX.
* Work closely with a world-class team of user experience designers to create next generation web applications or enterprise applications.
* Write project related documents: technical design documents, best practices, lesson learned etc.
* Work with Project Managers to produce & meet project milestones and schedules.
* Interface with customers to gather requirements, design approaches, and project status. Act as a consultant to our customers.
Requirements
* Experienced in developing web applications within a professional services, consulting environment.
* Strong OOP experience.
* Ability to work in a dynamic, growing and challenging environment.
* Must be a strong team player and an effective communicator.
* An ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
* 5+ years of proven, relevant, web development & enterprise application development experience. GUI development skills (e.g. LZX, Action Script, JavaScript, Flash, PHP, CSS or ColdFusion ) Familiarity with web protocols and standards (e.g. HTTP, SOAP, XML)
* Strong understanding of server-side development and integration, particularly J2EE Servlets, JSP, JDBC, and/or .NET
* Familiarity with servlet container configuration and debugging.
* Database experience in SQL2000, MySQL or Oracle is a plus.
* Some Project Management skills preferred.

Senior Software Engineer, Mail Systems

This position requires proven records of designing and implementing Mail Systems.

Responsibilities:
* Enhance, architect, design, and implement Mail solutions that meet customers business needs.
* Interface with customers to gather requirements, present design approaches, and provide project status. Act as a consultant to our customers.
* Write project related documents such as, product requirements documents, technical design documents, best practices papers and lessons learned summaries, etc.
* Work with our RIA designers, product team engineers and QA to deliver high quality solutions.
Minimum Requirements
* 7+ years of proven, relevant, enterprise application development experience using Java, J2EE, Spring framework, Hibernate, XML.
* Strong OOP experience.
* Experience with messaging systems (Email, Voicemail, IM) and technologies (IMAP, POP, SMTP)
* Experience with databases (SQL, LDAP)
* Knowledge of web-based solutions architecture, deployment, and the underlying technologies (network, web servers, SOA, REST)
* Experience with software development life cycle, methodologies, and best practices.
* Experience with UNIX, Linux.
* Experience with web development, JSP, JavaScript, HTTP, HTML.
* Experience with OpenLaszlo or willing to learn this cool technology.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Senior Software QA Engineer
(Location: Beijing, China)
Laszlo is seeking a senior software QA engineer in the SF Bay area for a hands-on position testing a server-based application development and deployment platform. Responsibilities include creating, documenting, and building infrastructure, testing plans and processes for a small, but growing, product development team.
Position requires:
* 5+ years testing experience with formal testing methodologies/environments
* Java programming experience, as well as experience with web standards and web application development
* Ability to create cross platform automated test scripts in a variety of languages (JUnit, Perl, Python, etc.)
* Experience with commercial or open source testing tools
* Stress/load testing and benchmarking experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience testing server-based software, OSes, APIs, and/or protocols
* Demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages
* Ability to communicate and work well within a product development team
* Comfortable with multiple OS platforms
Pluses:
* Network engineering experience
* Experience deploying and configuring J2EE Application Servers
* Build systems maintenance abilities
* LZX Programming experience
