In 1924 in Berlin, Dr. Theodor Stiebel, the company founder, started to develop and manufacture products that used less energy, were much safer and gave higher levels of comfort. This philosophy is still very much in evidence at STIEBEL ELTRON today. 80 years on, STIEBEL ELTRON is regarded as a very successful company in the environmental control and system engineering sector of the building industry.

Today, the co-owners of the STIEBEL ELTRON Group are Frank and Dr. Ulrich Stiebel, the sons of the company founder. The STIEBEL ELTRON group, with a total turnover of over 300 million Euro, is centred around Stiebel Eltron GmbH & Co. KG and Stiebel Eltron International GmbH. These, together with its international subsidiaries and Dr. Theodor Stiebel Werke GmbH & Co. KG complete the members of the holding company.

The head office of the STIEBEL ELTRON group is located in Holzminden, Germany which is at the River Weser. This is not only the home of the global administration and distribution organisations, but also the production site for many millions of electric space and water heating appliances, renewable energy systems and heat recovery / ventilation systems. Additional production facilities are located in Berlin, where the High-Tech-Werke manufactures electronic and electromechanical components, in Eschwege, where point of use water heaters, water boilers, hand dryers and thermoplastic components are manufactured, and in Bangkok, Thailand where shower units have been produced since 2001.

Fourteen subsidiaries, and numerous agencies and associates worldwide look after the interests of the company outside of Germany. With their own sales organisations and service facilities they successfully cater for the needs of their own markets.

Since 2004, Stiebel Eltron (Guangzhou) Technology Development Co., Ltd has been established to be the subsidiary of STIEBEL ELTRON group in China, mainly responsible for offering electronic heating products, such as electronic waters, space heaters and hand driers to Chinese market.

During the last few years, Stiebel Eltron (GZ) already built up strong networks through more and more local agents and dealers, consistently trying its best to provide Chinese families with no only quality products, but also feelings of comfort, warmth, and harmony.
