JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Application Engineer Industrial Pump
Business: SPX Process Equipment China
Division: SPX Flow Technology
Business report to: National Sales Manager Industrial Pump
Function report to: National Sales Manager Industrial Pump
Location: Shanghai

GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is accountable for providing sales sizing and quotation on pump products. It also needs to supply technical support on pre-sales and after sales, in terms of the needs of sales team, distributors and enduser.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

1. Provide detailed sales and technical support and customer specification evaluation for routine assignments of moderate variety and complexity. Solicits design, commercial and project management information on specific project phases and distributes design and commercial data and documentation to appropriate personnel.

2. Read, evaluate and understand scope of written and oral commercial or technical support requests. Requests clarification from requester as necessary and suggests modifications in support of customer requests and company goals, as necessary. Maintain accurate records in accordance with department procedures. Be responsible for methods of documentation and data retrieval. Perform routine analysis to check applicability, accuracy and precision of sizing procedures.

3. Uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals. Selects design and test methods, procedures, equipment, data format and arranges schedule for projects. Able to seek advice on adaptation/development of unique applications, test programs, procedures and schedules, when customer requirements identify a special need.

4. Completes process design per customer requirements, performs basic mechanical design checks, collects commercial (cost and Terms & Conditions) information from Company resources, and develops proposed pricing in accordance with Company policy.

5. Possesses and applies basic knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of assigned tasks and problems. Able to draw on understanding of Chemical and Mechanical Engineering disciplines to solve routine problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. A bachelor s degree in Chemical Machine and Equipment.

2. Good communication skills at all aspects

3. Good spoken and written English. Able to communicate and clarify technical and commercial issue in English. Able to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and test programs. Able to read and comprehend basic legal and financial language.

4. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

5. Able to read and comprehend basic mechanical drawing. Able to use AutoCAD fluently.

6. Fluent use of computer programs such as Excel and Microsoft Word or other related software.
