Position: Regional IT Specialist, IT
Key Responsibilities:
As a Regional IT specialist you are responsible for supporting the technical infrastructure and services for NetApp employees in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Guangzhou, Chengdu, etc). You provide support in the areas of analysis, testing, customization, debugging and implementation for desktop and laptop computer systems and operating systems software. This is a customer-facing role where your skill at maintaining and developing relationships with internal customers is crucial.
Provide first level support for local IT and Telecom related matters and requests, escalating and owning issues raised by users in China.
Configure, install, troubleshoot and repair systems and applications on desktop and laptop systems.
Track, recycle, manage, configure, install and advise on desktop and laptop systems.
Work in a varied environment that includes platforms running Windows 2000 / XP, networking in several disparate offices, phone systems and NetApp products.
Work in a dynamic business environment primarily covering China and also being an integral part of the IT organization covering the APAC region.
This position is based in Beijing, but requires regular travel to other cities (Shanghai, Dalian, Guangzhou, Chengdu, etc) and occasional travel to other NetApp regions.
Essential Functions:
• Provide IT support service and focus in the following areas: LAN/WAN, telecom, desktop support, internal Help desk operations, remote access
• Analyze, test and debug systems
• Problem diagnosis and resolution
• Ensure client satisfaction and client management
• Provide user training and education
• Maintain cable management within local Comms room
• Establish excellent working relationship with corporate IT and EMEA operation teams especially the networking, desktop and infrastructure functions
• Where required manage vendor relationships within China
• Project management
Qualifications and background:
• Minimum three+ years experience in information technology, working in a Windows desktop environment with networking and telecom knowledge in a fast moving global, multi-national technology company
• The ideal candidate will have worked for storage, networking or related hardware companies, preferably with engineering organizations and will have a track record of handling rapid growth
• Will have had experience working with sales and service groups with a strong understanding of their infrastructure needs and how they operate
• Broad IT background encompassing business technology applications, emerging technologies, e-commerce, wireless, etc. Probably MCSE qualified, with experience of face-to-face multi-tiered customer service.
• International team player with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks against set deadlines
• Must be able to comfortably and effectively communicate with users at all levels
• Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices – ITIL
• BS in computer science or engineering is required
• Good oral and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English

This will be an “achiever” personality with a “can do” attitude combined with a start-up mentality, who strives to resolve issues by knocking down barriers and roadblocks to achieve deadlines. Will be a self-starter who maps their own direction to succeed and is never afraid to address issues outside their area of responsibility
• Team-player. Must be a strong team player who values people, with the ability to motivate and work with subordinates, peers and senior management to build a collaborative environment
• Ethics. Strong personal and professional ethical values, impeccable integrity, trustworthy
• Language proficient. Must be fully fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken
