You will be expected to have an eye for detail and an ability to communicate issues in a clear and concise manner. You will also have a track record of being diligent and hard working with an educational and work background in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install new and/or rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

2. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.

3. Perform regular backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.

4. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

5. Perform inspection on server incidents.

6. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor (4-year) degree, with at least 3 years system administration experience

2. Familiar with Linux or Unix with experience with RHEL and CentOS is preferred

3. Proficient in configuring Apache, nginx, PHP and MySQL. Experience with Asterisk and Zimbra Collaboration Suite will be considered an advantage

4. Proficient at Linux shell scripting

5. Familiar with common Linux shell utilities including iptables, rsync, vi / vim, grep, ps, top, etc.

6. Excellent written English ability is a necessity and good English verbal communication skills would be considered an advantage
