GEARBULK GRAUATE PROGRAMME

Gearbulk is a leading international shipping group with offices strategically positioned across the world. We are a market leader in providing cost-effective, reliable and innovative ocean transport. Our people, ashore and onboard, make it all happen.

We are looking for graduates with a global mindset and a desire to develop a long term career in shipping to join our Graduate Programme.

We aim to:

Attract bright, ambitious and self motivated individuals from the worldwide student population with a desire to develop a long term shipping career

Develop graduates with the knowledge and skills that they need to move forward within the organisation

What can you expect?

An intensive 2 year programme which will introduce you to the commercial and operational side of Gearbulk's business.

As part of the programme you will:

complete international job placements and assignments in locations such as Rio, Shanghai, Manila, Bergen, Singapore and Tampa to provide on-the-job learning, fully immersing you into the industry

have the opportunity to develop your personal and leadership skills to prepare you for your future career

complete your professional Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers qualification.

The ICS is the only internationally recognised professional body in the maritime arena and it represents shipbrokers, ship managers and agents throughout the world. Completion of the qualification is an integral part of a graduate's development in the shipping industry.

be assigned a mentor to support you through the programme and your transition to a international posting at the end of the programme

Spend time at sea aboard a Gearbulk vessel

Have access to language training to learn English, Portuguese or Mandarin.

At the end of the two year programme you will have the opportunity to move into an international posting on either the operational or commercial side.

Personal Development

Your personal development is important. Over the two year programme you will experience learning opportunities that will help you to grow as individuals and increase your personal awareness.

Management training workshops, language training and cultural awareness training are just a handful of the opportunities that will be made available to you.

Candidate profile:

In terms of programme requirements we are looking for candidates who meet the following profile:

Bachelor's degree or higher

Motivated self-starter with strong business acumen

Team worker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrates natural leadership qualities

Has a desire to learn, experience new challenges and diverse cultures

Ability to multi-task, prioritise and deal with a fast paced environment

Willingness to relocate and work globally
