Position: Full-time Intern

Group: Microsoft Research Connections

Work Location: Beijing

Group Overview

The Research Connections Group nurtures strong mutually supportive partnerships between MSR Asia and the academic community. Since MSR Asia's inception, the Research Connections program has recognized the inherent value of the academic research community and the need for collaboration between academia and industry to advance the state-of-the-art in computer science. The foundation for all Microsoft Research's Research Connections efforts is a deep respect for the "virtuous cycle" that is created when university and industry researchers work together.

Roles & Responsibilities

Microsoft Research Asia Research Connections Group is looking for an intern who will assist Research Connection communication work.

Required Qualifications:

MS/PhD in English Journalism and Communication, IT Field Scientific English or related majors

Good English and Chinese writing skill

Related work on public media, campus media or social media

Familiar with IT technology trends and hot topics

Can commit at least 6 months internship, can get your advisor's approval.

Group: Software Analytics Group

Work Location: Beijing

Group Overview

With various analytical and computing technologies, such as pattern recognition, machine learning, data mining, information visualization and large-scale data computing & processing, software analytics is to enable software practitioners to perform effective and efficient data exploration and analysis in order to obtain insightful and actionable information for data-driven tasks in engineering software and services.

Roles & Responsibilities

The intern will be working in data mining on large-scale data, and implementing a system to enable the effective and efficient data exploration and analysis.

Required Qualifications:

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related technical field and possess the following skills:

Strong in algorithm design and algorithm implementation

Background in machine learning and data mining

Strong in programming skills

Passion in algorithm and programming

Good communication skills and excellent teamwork.

Can commit at least 6 months internship, can get your advisor's approval.

Overview

Researchers in the Web Search and Mining Area are turning their ideas into reality in areas such as computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning. Projects pushing the state-of-the-art forward include multimedia related research.

Required Qualifications:

MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or any related technical field

Good reading, written, and oral English;

Strong in signal and image processing

Solid mathematics (linear algebra, optimization, statistics)

Background in machine learning (clustering, learning, classification)

Group: Internet Graphics Group

Work Location: Beijing

Group Overview

Research activities at Internet Graphics Group focus on cutting edge graphics technologies, ranging from graphics algorithms and systems, graphical interactive techniques, and motion picture and video game technologies. Our mission is to conduct world-leading graphics research that can impact both the academia and the industry, by leveraging our extensive research expertise on rendering, modeling, and animation. We also develop techniques that support Microsoft graphics and game platforms such as DirectX and XDK, and work closely with Microsoft Game Studios on next generation game engines.

Roles & Responsibilities

Interns will work in an area of geometry processing, volume meshing and architectural geometry.

Required Qualifications:

MS/PhD in Computer Science or any related technical field and possess the following skills;

Experience in geometry processing and computational geometry

Solid mathematics (linear algebra, numerical optimization)

Good programming skills or have related project experience;

Good reading, written, and oral English;

Good communication skills and excellent teamwork.
