Internship Description:
Background:

- WRI's Aqueduct project is a water risk mapping tool for companies, investors, and governments. Seeww***org[点击查看] for more information

- At the heart of Aqueduct is a Water Risk Framework made up of twelve different challenges for:

o Companies uses water risk to prioritize actions and set targets across operations and value chain

o Investors leverage financial interest to identify market risks and opportunities to prioritize investment

o Governments and private sector seek solutions for better watershed management

- WRI launched the new Aqueduct tool at the end of January 31. We continue to present the tool and spread the word on water risk. We also plan to evaluate how our tool can be best used by other countries including China

Skills:

- Fluent in Chinese and English, ability to translate

- Bachelor or Master degree in environmental engineering, environmental management, water resource management, environmental water law and policy, business, or energy systems

- Data analysis

- GIS

Scope:

- Coordinate and set meetings with Chinese companies and investors

- Accompany senior associate and present Aqueduct to Chinese companies and investors

- Complete a market analysis of Chinese companies and investor needs related to water

- Translate materials for meetings

- TBD: organize workshop at the end of June where Chinese companies and investors share their experiences with water risk and best practice

Timeframe: as soon as possible through July 1, 2013

Time commitment: 10-15 hours a week
