Welcome to the Barclays Graduate Recruitment System.

This site is intended for candidates who wish to apply to the Summer Internship Programme or Graduate Programme at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.

We hire on a rolling basis and therefore urge you to apply and complete your online tests asap.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

PRIVATE BANKERS

All applications for Private Banker positions (both full-time and intern) should be submitted via our online application form. You'll also need an electronic copy of your CV/resum ready to attach to your online application.

Initial Testing - We believe that this is the most objective way to assess candidates against the same criteria. We invite applicants to sit aptitude tests to ensure they've got the numerical and verbal reasoning skills needed to get the most out of their placement.

Familiarise yourself with the test format and types of questions you'll be asked by having a look at our sample questions.

Please note that we may ask you to take the numerical and verbal reasoning tests again if you reach the assessment centre stage.

First interview - On successful completion of our tests, you may be invited for a face-to-face or telephone interview so that we can find out more about you and your reasons for wanting to join us. This is your opportunity to highlight your strengths and abilities.

Assessment centres - Having proved your suitability for Barclays, the last stage is finding out if you'll fit in with our culture. We'll consider your career prospects with us, your aptitude for specific roles and how your character adapts to our work environment. Through a combination of interviews, analytical exercises, psychometric tests, group activities and presentations, we'll determine if Barclays is right for you and if you're right for Barclays.

SPRING SESSION

As the Spring Session is jointly conducted by the wealth and investment management and investment banking divisions of Barclays, your application must be made via the Barclays investment bank website.

You'll need an electronic copy of your CV/resum ready to attach to your online application.

Once you've submitted your application (which will involve uploading a one page CV and completing the application form), you'll be invited to take online aptitude tests. Once you've completed the initial testing, we'll review your application and invite selected candidates to an interview day in London.

We'll then make offers within a few days of your interview.

FAQ:
CAN I SEND MY CV/RESUM INSTEAD OF REGISTERING ONLINE?
NO.To make the application process fair and consistent, all applications must be made online via this website. We don't accept any other form of application.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY ONLINE?
Your initial application should take less than 30 minutes to complete. You may find it useful to have an electronic copy of your CV/resum to hand so you can copy and paste the relevant parts into your application.
Please always attach a full version of your CV/resum (including contact details, education etc) to your application, even though some of these details may also be on your application form.

I'VE APPLIED TO THE WEALTH AND INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT/INVESTMENT BANKING DIVISION OF BARCLAYS BEFORE. CAN I REAPPLY?
If you've applied to the wealth and investment management or investment banking divisions of Barclays in a previous academic year you may reapply. You must submit a new application and provide details of any previous applications. Please note that you can only apply once in each academic year to either the wealth and investment management, investment banking or corporate banking divisions of Barclays and we have mechanisms in place to detect multiple and duplicate applications.

IF I'VE APPLIED TO THE WEALTH AND INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION OF BARCLAYS CAN I ALSO APPLY TO BARCLAYS INVESTMENT BANK OR VICE VERSA?
No. You can only make one application per academic year and this must be to either the wealth and investment management or investment banking divisions of Barclays - you're not allowed to apply to both and we have mechanisms in place to detect multiple applications. If we find out during the application process that you've applied to both, only your first application will remain valid.

Yes. Anyone can apply and all applications are considered against the same criteria, regardless of which university you attend.

Yes, but please note that work permit regulations vary between the different locations. You should be aware that the granting of work permits is beyond the control of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management and subject to local immigration laws.

Globally, immigration laws are becoming ever more stringent and whilst we do accept applications from those needing a work permit these are becoming very hard to obtain in certain locations. We'll do everything we can to obtain work permits, but cannot guarantee these.

CAN I APPLY TO MORE THAN ONE BUSINESS AREA OR MORE THAN ONE LOCATION?
We'd like you to research the opportunities available on the website, so you can make the right decision during the application. You may only apply to one business area and one location. You cannot apply to both the wealth and investment management and the investment banking divisions of Barclays - you must decide before applying which business you feel you're more suited to.

WHEN WILL THE SUMMER PROGRAMME/FULL-TIME PROGRAMME START?
The summer programme normally starts in June for 10 weeks. Our full-time graduate programme starts in September 2013.

WILL I BE PAID RELOCATION EXPENSES?
Should you receive an offer of employment from Barclays, details of relocation allowances will be contained in your offer pack.

DOES BARCLAYS WEALTH SUPPORT STUDY FOR EXTERNAL QUALIFICATIONS?
Yes. Private Bankers are required to pass the IMC (Investment Management Certificate) and the CFA. Others are considered on a case-by-case basis and according to business needs. The CFA is compulsory at the Private Banker level.

No. We offer summer internships which give a valuable insight into the wealth and investment management division of Barclays and are available to penultimate year university applicants. We also offer the Spring Session programme to first year university students. We do not currently offer industrial placements.

WILL MY TRAVEL EXPENSES BE COVERED FOR INTERVIEWS AND ASSESSMENT CENTRES?
Yes, subject to the production of appropriate receipts.
