Senior User Experience (UX) Lead

Our combination of global scale, local focus, and an integrated partnership with the world-class Microsoft Research Asia gives us a unique capacity to deliver truly useful services for users in this exciting market and to bring the great ideas from China to the world.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Senior UX Lead in STCA, you will own UX/UI features of Bing global and Asian markets, working with marketing to define feature requirements/priorities, working with Program Management, Development, and Test on designing the features and interfacing with customers to ensure user experience. You must feel comfortable operating within a fast moving research & development team. You should have a proven track record of working with PM/dev/test/research in a product group, great design skills, strong customer empathy, and excellent written and oral communication. This position requires the ability to influence feature teams through written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. The ability to handle multiple concurrent releases and demonstrated experience driving for results in a cross-group/team project is a must.
You will lead UX designers to create a range of designs for each project, be self-motivated with a positive attitude, evangelize user experience in the organization, collaborate with other design teams in Bing US, coach and grow designers, and be able to manage vender resources.
Core responsibilities:
Coach and lead designers to deliver state-of-art UX design work for Bing features, including but not limited to: defining user scenarios, storyboard feature flows, deliver concept sketch, mid-fidelity and high-fidelity designs
Plan, scope and prioritize UX design work
Set benchmarks and ensures a high quality UX across all phases of the product development cycle
Evangelize UX practice, vision, process, and thinking in STCA and Bing US
Work closely with the Bellevue UX design team on vision, process, design reviews, and UX strategy
Collaborate effectively with other functional groups (program management, development, user assistance, localization, marketing, etc)

Qualifications
Passion and empathy for people, and experience working with User Research to translate a deep understanding of the human experience into compelling solutions
6+ years design experience in a production environment
Extensive knowledge and experience in driving design process and "design thinking" in organization
Extensive project planning and management skills
Experienced at least 2 full product development cycles from beginning through to ship and sustain
Prior experience working with overseas teams and/or designing for mobile devices a plus
An undergraduate degree in interaction, cognitive psychology, communication or industrial design, or the equivalent. A master's degree in interaction design is a plus
