We have 9 polyclinics under our group, spread across theWestern and Northern regions of Singapore. Each polyclinic sees the entirespectrum of patients requiring ambulatory, outpatient care, and we managearound 700 - 1200 patients per day. Our primary focus in the polyclinic is managing chronic diseases likehypertension and diabetes among our patients. We also actively screen fortheir complications with annual diabetic retinal photography and footscreening, all which can be done in-house. Besides chronic diseases, we alsoprovide the full range of medical services, for example, acuteconsultations, emergency treatment, well-women and well-child visits. Another facet of our polyclinics is our commitment to teaching, training andresearch. We play a very active role in teaching both medical and nursingstudents during their undergraduate years. Our teaching commitment extendsto doctors doing their post-graduate qualifications in Family Medicine (MMedand GDFM) Doctors interested in specializing in primary care will also be posted tothe polyclinics for their training periods. Our polyclinics also have set upa Clinical Research Unit to cater to this area in the healthcare market. Each polyclinic is a 1-stop primary care facility, geared to meet outpatients' needs. We have in-house X-Ray, lab and pharmacy services, togetherwith the entire range of nursing services like counselling, immunization,developmental assessment and emergency treatment. Each clinic is staffed byaround 10 - 18 doctors, 20 - 40 nurses, 20 - 30 ancillary staff, 10diagnostics and 10 - 20 pharmacy staff.
