POSITION TITLE: Product Quality Engineer
REPORTS TO: Product Quality Manager, AP
SUPERVISES:
BASED IN: Pu Dong, Shanghai
DATE: Nov, 2010
BASIC FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for Haworth in-house and OEM products quality management of assigned category products.
2. As key member of NPI project team, play quality related roles in Haworth new product development activities.
3. Identify Quality improvement opportunities from in-house and OEM manufacturing system, and follow true the effective improvement actions.
4. Deal with product quality related customer complaint, and lead improvement activities with cross-function team until effectively close the improvement actions.
5. Communicate product improvement with sales operations team and support sales operations team to quickly solve any of on site quality issues to satisfy customer.
6. Lead OEM supplier qualification and development activities to support business need.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Lead in-house made parts and OEM made parts qualification (ISIR) process.
2. Make design related Engineering Change Orders (ECO) preparation for readiness check and give approval to all in-house made and OEM made part/product related ECO.
3. Develop new product or design changed product s quality/reliability test plan (DVP&R) and monitor the test plan implementation to ensure compliance to specified parameters (BIFMA, AFRDI, ES, etc.).
4. Create process control plan for in-house made and OEM made part/product.
5. Join PFMEA creation activities for new product.
6. Develop manufacturing process inspection instructions (setup inspection, in-process inspection, final audit) for in-house made products.
7. Develop final audit specification with marketing team for OEM product.
8. Review OEM supplier technical agreement with Marketing team;
9. Develop OEM supplier quality agreement and ensure it is signed by both parties.
10.Manage OEM process problem statistics and analysis, customer failure analysis, and drive improvement.
11.Deal with product quality related customer complaint, investigate the root cause and lead improvement activities with cross-function team until effectively close the improvement actions.
12.Communicate product improvement with sales operations team and support sales operations team to quickly solve any of on site quality issues to satisfy customer.
13.Cooperating with related functions to do OEM supplier qualification.
14.Develop process audit plan of OEM supplier and conduct process audit to identify opportunities for continues improvement.
15.Communicate quality performance with OEM top management team periodically and follow up quality improvement activities (FPR, process audit, QMS audit) with OEM suppliers until effectively close the improvement actions.
16.Haworth Manufacturing System tools and other tools training and application guidance for OEM suppliers, to enhance OEM competence in quality, productivity, efficiency and waste elimination.
17.Other tasks may be assigned by supervisor.
RELATIONSHIPS
1. Internal Customers - Frequent contact with Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Line Supervisor, Sales Operation Team, Sales Team, Supplier Quality and Development Engineer, Planner, QC Engineer, other Quality Members, and all levels of management.
2. External Customers - Frequent contact with OEM and Customer.
COMPETANCES
1. Major in Mechanical related, Bachelor Degree, at least 5 years working experience;
2. A certified quality engineer and has strong quality management system and process audit experience
3. Be familiar with SPC, FMEA, PPAP and MSA tools application
4. Strong experience of OEM or supplier quality management and development
5. Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
6. Have experience at inspection technique of mechanical product
7. Must be resourceful and tenacious in developing and implementing ideas for improvement;
8. Good team work and communication skills
9. Very good Project Management skills
10.Result-oriented and good inter-personal skills
11.Good written communication skills in English and Chinese
12.Be capable of using Microsoft office software (Excel, Word, etc.)
13.Overnight travel up to 15 percent of time required
