Operating System Engineer:

ICube is a semiconductor company located in the Hi-Tech Park of Shenzhen, China. We develop advanced streaming processor chips based on parallel computing architecture. Our team of professional engineers, led by long-time Silicon Valley veterans, was built with a culture that emphasizes and believes in innovation, initiative-taking, and intellectual honesty.

Our technical leaders, Simon Moy and Fred Chow, have 25 years of experience in processor design and compiler development respectively. Their vision and mission are to lead a team of top engineering talents in China to develop a parallel computing platform chip that would result great technical impact to the IC industry and significant commercial value to the handheld device market.

We are looking for a few good operating system engineers who are willing to work hard to make a difference:

Primary responsibilities:

Retarget an industry-standard Linux-based operating system to a multi-core platform based on a new CPU. Work involves:

Building and testing system software distributions for a new CPU

Retargeting kernel-level device drivers based on requirements of new platform

Identifying compiler and driver issues during operating system bring-up

Required Qualification:

B.S or higher degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with focus on system software

Knowledge and experience in operating system design and prototyping

Knowledge of computing platforms' software/hardware interfaces

Knowledge of Linux system functions

Experience with kernel-level software development

Excellent programming skills in common languages like C, C , Java and scripting languages like Shell, Perl and Python

Familiarity with the use of debugging tools

Preferred Qualification:

Knowledge of Linux operating system implementation

Understanding of low-level operating system concepts, including interrupt processing, memory management, job scheduling

Experience with kernel-mode programming and the kernel boot process

Experience in debugging complex system issues

Experience in parallel processing and parallel programming

Ability to code in assembly language

Personal Attributes:

Good problem-solving skills

Can-do attitude and willingness to take ownership of projects

Good communication skill in both Chinese and English

Compiler Engineer:

Primary responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of parallelizing and optimizing compilers for a multi-core CPU architecture. Work involves:

Implementation of code generator to support standard language constructs

Compiler support of different models for parallel programming

Isolating compilation problems and proposing and implementing their solution

Identifying areas of performance improvement

Implementation of multi-processing run-time libraries

Bring-up of debugging tools to support system and application debugging

Liaison with hardware team on architecture issues

Required Qualification:

B.S or higher degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with focus on compiler implementation

Working knowledge of compiler phase structures, program representation, program optimization and transformation techniques, code generation, instruction level parallelism

Preferred Qualification:

Experience and background in the following areas are beneficial:

o GNU compiler and debugger implementation

o OpenMP, C and Java language support

o CPU micro-architecture

Experience in implementing system runtime libraries

Ability to tune for performance in assembly language

Personal Attributes:

Linux Driver Engineer:

Primary responsibilities:

Design and implement the system software interface for a new CPU architecture. Work involves:

Defining the application programming interface (API) to allow both systems and application software to exploit the advanced features of the new CPU

Implementing the contents of the driver routines based on their defined functionalities

Liaison with hardware team on functionality and interface issues for the devices on the chip

Collaboration with kernel and application team in software bring-up

Required Qualification:

B.S or higher degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with focus on software/hardware interface

Experience in developing Linux device drivers

Excellent C programming skills in cross-platform development environment

Ability to code in assembly language

Preferred Qualification:

Experience in coding drivers for industry APIs

Knowledge of Linux system functions

Knowledge of parallel computation and programming concepts

Personal Attributes:

Good problem-solving skills

Can-do attitude and willingness to take ownership of projects

Good communication skill in both Chinese and English

ASIC Design Engineer

Job Description:

l ASIC design, verification, and performance analysis.

l RTL coding, synthesis, timing analysis, formal verification, functional verification

l IP verification

l FPGA verification

l chip test

l silicon bring-up

Requirements:

l MS/PhD in Eletrical/Computer Engineering, preferred to have concentration in the area of computer architecture and microprocessor design

l Familiar with parallel computing and stream processor concept a big plus

l knowledge on standard ASIC design flow

l knowledge on FPGA design flow

l willing to learn, good team player and self-motivated
