Hiring Brief for [Wireless System Engineer]

Job location: Shanghai

The Wireless System Engineer will be responsible for manufacturing Apple wireless products and integrating them into Apple systems. He/she will work in an engineering technology group on wireless communications products as well as the integration of wireless technologies within Apple products. He/she will work proactively with other cross-functional Apple engineering teams such as systems engineering, operations, program management, antenna engineering, diagnostics as well as external vendors of wireless technologies and contract manufacturers. International and domestic travel is likely.

Qualifications:

1. Design, manufacturing and qualification expertise with IEEE 802.11 products and or Bluetooth products

2. Familiar with RF fundamentals and RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generator, power meter). Hands on wireless system validation process. Familiar with PC and network architecture

3. Exposure to: wireless chip/board design, diagnostic tool development/support, wireless system debug, validation and testing

4. Knowledge of Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, and similar wireless technologies and/or experience with wireless module integration into PC system or consumer products is a strong plus, knowledge of antenna technology is also a strong plus

5. Experience in C/C programming, test automation by using Perl and Labview is a strong plus

6. Direct experience or exposure to one or more of the following: multi-radio coexistence design and integration, platform noise measurement, root cause analysis and mitigation solutions development, module and system power consumption and thermal control, battery life, diagnostic tool development, antenna performance measurement, analysis and tuning

7. Excellent verbal and written skills

8. Strong coordination skills, passion for work and self-driven.

A qualified candidate must have a BSEE or MSEE with emphasis on RF and digital communication, a few years of relevant industry experience is a strong plus. Must be an excellent communicator with a successful track record of delivering highly innovative communications products. Should be well organized and have the ability to be flexible in a changing work environment.
