JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Sales or Marketing Trainee

Department: TPW, SMT China

Reports to: Greater China Sales Manager - Tube, Primary, Welding

Location: Shanghai (initial 14-month training)

General Responsibilities

² Sandvik Materials Technology is a world leading developer and producer of advanced alloys and ceramic materials, serving a broad range of industries with innovative products and system solutions.

² Product Area Tube is a world-leading producer of seamless stainless steel tubes. We have total control over the entire production process from steel melt to the finished product. Our tubes are typically used within industries such as chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, power generation, fertilizer, pulp and paper and machinery.

² Tube Rotation Program - Product area tube is going to gradually strengthen its sales force. One of the steps forward is to start a global Sales Trainee program lasting for one year, aimed at developing skilled sales professionals for the Sales Units (SU) and Product Units (PU). The program will start in July 2010 with an initial 2 ½ months of training in Sandviken, Sweden. The tube Sales trainee program offers opportunities for both professional and personal growth.

Key accountabilities

As a sales trainee you will participate in the 12-month program including an initial 2 ½ months of general training in Sandviken, followed by four two-month sessions with two PUs and SUs respectively. There are three areas to apply to: Sales area APAC, Sales area EMEA or Sales area NAFTA. You will build a network with key people within the SUs/PUs and establish relationships with local customers and suppliers. Your key performance areas also include:

n - Supporting development of the business and organization in line with SMT Business systems practices.

n - Understanding Tube products and features and communicating them to the customers.

n - Communicating value to the customers and understanding key applications and value drivers

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone who has recently graduated from university or some practical experience and is highly motivated, with leadership potential/interest. Your qualifications also include:

q BSc in engineering or business and administration or other relevant education experience from sales & marketing and/or production or R&D.

q Good business acumen.

q A team player in the global organization.

q Good team leader/builder.

q Self-confident and good at building relationships.

q Fluency in English, both spoken and written; other language skills are appreciated.

You have excellent internal and external communication skills, and you are a person who others listen to. Furthermore, you are accountable, geographically flexible and competitive; you do what it takes to achieve what has been promised.
