Position Name: PRODUCT ASSURANCE ENGINEER

Responsibilities

Test IGT gaming software/firmware to ensure it meets required customer, jurisdictional and functional specifications and complies with regulatory requirements.

Develop and execute test plans and test scripts for IGT gaming software/firmware.

Assist in creating test standards. Perform scripted, exploratory, regression, load and performance, black box, and to some extent, white box testing.

Investigate field issues. Review product documentation and packages. Write or enhance automated tools to support test plans.

Document test methods and findings, summarize results and recommend fixes.

Perform troubleshooting and research into defects and communicate to engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, or computer engineering required.

0 to 2 years of experience in software quality assurance including test plan development, software/firmware testing, experience with test tools, knowledge of quality assurance processes/methodologies.

Programming background in two or more of the following: C, C++, .NET, C#, VB, Java, SQL, XML.

Basic electronics and computer hardware knowledge and strong trouble shooting skills.

Must have good written and verbal communication skills, be detail oriented, self-motivated, and work well in a team environment.

Position Name: SOFTWARE ENGINEER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be an expert in all technical aspects of the product they are responsible for

Develop creative solutions and write technical design & architecture documents

Provide work estimates for proposed projects

Cross-train developers on product features that are implemented

Constantly look for better processes for projecting and improving project profitability

Perform hands-on software design and development in C# and .Net

Develop and execute unit tests for product components

Help protect the IP created in IGT and file technical patents and publications

Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback

Promote high quality, scalability, and timely completion of projects

Work with geographically distributed teams

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

Required:

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree

0-2 years of software development experience

Development experience in an enterprise-class system with multi-tier architecture

Enthusiastic in solving interesting problems

Expert in OOA design

Experience in C++/C#, and .Net

Solid experience with Windows services development and multi-threaded application development.

Experience with Design patterns

Knowledge of the implications of developing for high-availability clustered environments

Strong speaking and writing skills, in both Chinese and English

Comfortable working in a flexible Agile development environment

Position Name: SOFTWARE ENGINEER - JAVA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

Required:

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree

0-2 years of software development experience

Development in an enterprise-class system with multi-tier architecture

Enthusiastic in solving interesting problems

Java server-side development experience, GUI side development desirable

Experience with various java development frameworks such as MVC and Struts

Experience with various J2EE containers such as Weblogic, Websphere, JBOSS, etc.

Experience in J2EE APIs including EJBs, Servlets, JTA, JSPs, JSTL, web services and JDBC

Good in implementing successful high-performance multi-threaded server applications

Experience with Design patterns

Experience delivering complex software installed and used by multiple customers

Position Name: DATABASE ENGINEER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be an expert in all technical aspects of the product they are responsible for

Develop creative solutions and write technical design & architecture documents

Provide assistance to engineers and technical support staff. Cross-train others on product features that are implemented

Develop and apply advanced software engineering theories, methods and research techniques to validate or test assigned hypothesis.

Provide technical consultation to management, technical staff and other organizations.

Constantly look for better processes for projecting and improving project profitability

Develop and execute unit tests for product components

Help protect the IP created in IGT and file technical patents and publications

Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback

Promote high quality, scalability, and timely completion of projects

Work with geographically distributed teams

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

BS Computer Science or equivalent degree, MS preferred

0-2 years of hands-on database development using any SQL language and RDBMS

Exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to take initiative to solve issues in the context of current design and processes including performance tuning

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 a must. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 a plus.

Experience in using SQL tools: Enterprise Manager and query analyzer or Management Studio

Experience in using DTS or SSIS.

Experience in DBA tasks, with complete database system setup, including Server OS & DB configuration, SAN setup & configurations, filegroup setup, DB Backup/Recovery, etc.

Experience in designing and developing T-SQL code including stored procedures and views, DTS/SSIS and OLAP objects, etc. independently

Understands principles of database physical and logic design.

Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 or 2005, Microsoft Reporting Services, Visual Studio Team System, Casino Systems knowledge, and MCDBA a plus.

Good speaking and writing skills, in both Chinese and English

Position Name: TECHNICAL WRITER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Researches, writes, and project manages the creation of a variety of technical materials, such as product guides, policies, procedures, notifications and training documents.
Researches and writes clear, concise descriptions of products, processes, policies, and procedures.

Writes for both internal and external audiences.

Develops graphics, including screen shots, to support documentation.

Serves as documentation specialist to support team(s) dedicated to various IGT software products.

Internal contacts are regular with individuals of some influence within related engineering, product assurance, product compliance, product management, and other departments to obtain product guidelines and documentation constraints; external contacts are occasional with individuals of some influence representing outside customers.

Works closely with engineering and Product Assurance to coordinate documentation plans.

Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience in professional technical writing, with experience in documenting software development, policies, and step-by-step procedures. Must be able to provide a portfolio of relevant work samples in electronic format.

Must pass the EGS Technical Writer Proficiency Exam.

Degree (BA, MA) in Technical Writing, English, or a technical discipline is a plus.

Must possess good organizational and problem-solving skills to form masses of material into usable documentation.

Strong interpersonal and communications (written and oral) required.

Must be able to deal with constructive criticism in a professional manner.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision, either alone or as part of a team.

Must be able to produce documents quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.

Should view technical writing as a service career.

Individual must be very competent with Microsoft Office (especially MS Word), Windows, and FrameMaker.

Must be familiar with standard graphics packages (e.g., Visio, CorelDraw).

Experience writing user documentation is a plus.

Knowledge of SQL, HTML, XML, C#, and object-oriented programming is a plus.

Database and/or programming experience is a plus.

Usability testing experience is a plus.

Experience in gaming or hospitality is a plus.

May occasionally need to move around and under electronic gaming machines to connect components and move machines and parts requiring limited lifting, pushing, and pulling.
