Postdoctoral Researcher in the Dynamics and Vibration Lab 1-2 Conduct analytical and computational research on the vibration and dynamics of mechanical systems. The work uses mathematical models and computational tools to investigate the following problems: n nonlinear vibration of gears, n vibration absorbers in automotive transmissions, n dynamic modeling and analysis of unmanned helicopters. The work deals with linear and nonlinear models as well as continuous (partial differential equations) and discrete (ordinary differential equations) systems. Candidates are expected to conduct independent research on these topics and help guide PhD students working in the lab. In cooperation with Prof. Parker, candidates are expected to publish their work in strong English-language journals. Prof. Parker will assist in refining manuscripts so they will be accepted by leading journals. l PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanics. l Ability to conduct independent research. l Excellent written and oral communication skills. Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Optical Metrology and Machine Vision 1-2 1. Work independently on research projects in the field of optical metrology and machine vision 2. Help the faculty adviser to supervise graduate students, write grant proposals, and manage the daily operations of the research lab 3. Write research papers and resports in English 4. Occasionally teach undergraduate and graduate courses 1. Ph.D. degree from a major research university overseas or in China 2. At least three years of research experience in optical metrology and/or machine vision 3. Strong experimental skills with experience working with lasers and/or cameras 4. Strong programming skills in C++ and Matlab 5. Good English skills, both written and spoken 6.
