You, a senior software engineer, will need to own development for features of medium to large complexity, from turning requirements into architectural and feature specifications, to design and writing code that is reliable, maintainable, performance optimized, secure and world-ready. Most components are server-side and integrated in a J2EE application server environment. There are also some client-side integration components written in JavaScript and C++, Excellent verbal as well as written English communications are required.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding customer requirements, writing specifications for software features
to meet those requirements and estimates schedules with minimal to no supervision
• Assessing risks for predictable outcomes of deliverables.
• Developing code to implement requirements that is reliable, maintainable, performance optimized, secure and world-ready.
• Creating unit tests and test collateral to prove that new features work using JUnit and Cactus.
• Assisting the Customer Support team in resolving complex customer issues.
• Handing-off features to the Quality Engineering team and providing any assistance they require to successfully test the feature.

Education / Experience / Skills:

BS in Computer Science or similar study. (Advanced degree a plus)
• 5+ years of development experience, including 3+ years using Java/J2EE.
• Experience with related technologies (Swing, Web Services, EJB, JMS, CORBA, Servlet/JSP)
• Strong middleware application development experience
• Strong object-oriented analysis, design and implementation skills.
• Proven track record of on-time delivery of software development assignments.
• Highly desirable but non-essential experience includes: o JUnit, Cactus, and Clover development and associated development practice

Specific responsibilities include:
• Review engineering requirement & design documents, determine a test strategy to cover assigned testing areas;
• Create and maintain a test specification describing the test strategy, execute and analyze the results of test execution;
• Develop, implement and update QE test cases and test tools;
• Perform black box and automation testing
• Use internal bug tracking and test case management system
• Coach, train and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QE teams at US, Canada and India;
• Coordinate on-site or off-site contractors.
• Verifying development milestones;

Required Knowledge and Skills:
• 7+ years experience in software testing, including 3+ years in Enterprise software testing.
• Require BS degree in computer software, Information System or related fields.
• Strong organizational skills, Good English verbal and written communication skills,
• Advanced knowledge on the OS platform of UNIX, Linux (SuSe or RedHat) and Windows Advanced Server 2003.
• Strong knowledge on application server, such as JBoss, Websphere, Weblogic, etc.
• Advanced knowledge on at least one database, such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with a scripting language, preferably JavaScript, ActionScript, VBscript.
• Knowledge of XML
• High energy levels, Positive attitude, Independent decision making and problem solving skills.

Desired and Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of enterprise software testing on Solaris, HPUX or AIX.
• Knowledge of automation testing tools of Junit, QTP and automated testing development
• Experience of white box testing framework.
