Laboratory Technician

This position is to work as a technician in GE’s Water & Process Technologies laboratories at GE’s China Technology Center in the Water Reuse Team.

Position duties include performing standard testing and analysis of water treatment and purification experiments as well as assisting with other routine laboratory tasks.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

To assist R&D engineers and scientists in performing standardized testing(such as water quality analyse,spectrophotometer operation ), data collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and documentation;
To identify and implement improvements to the existing methods and procedures;
To assist R&D engineers and scientists in managing chemical, lab consumable purchasing and inventory;
To operate and perform preventive maintenance to the equipment in the lab;
To observe all health and safety rules and implement all policies, practices and procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements:

BS degree in

chemistry, chemical engineering, or environmental engineering,
Minimum 2 years laboratory experiment experience
Ability to perform tests according to procedure and to document results efficiently and accurately
Ability to use Microsoft Excel for data entry and manipulation and report results using basic statistics (average, standard deviation)
Ability to follow all safety rules and policies and promote a safe work place
Knowledge of pumps and fluid processing equipment preferred
English communication skills.
