Guangdong Nortel Telecommunication Equipment Co., Ltd. (Guangdong Nortel) was officially founded in March 1995. It is a core business company invested by the global communication giant Nortel in China, dedicated to introducing high-end technology and actively promoting localization of research and development, production and service. With their cutting-edge telecommunication technology, reliable product quality and specialist client services, Guangdong Nortel has become the largest overseas research and development, production and service base of Nortel, providing high quality products and services to customers in China and around the world.

In November 1994, under the support of Chinese and Canadian government, incorporation contract of Guangdong Nortel was formally executed in Beijing. The early stage was mainly involved with production of DMS. In order to meet the requirement of market development, Guangdong Nortel took the lead in setting up the first localized production line of GSM and CDMA in 1999, and exported GSM equipments to wireless service provider Ufone of Pakistan for the first time in 2002. As one of the two major research and development centers of Nortel in China, Guangdong Nortel R&D Center has undertaken the great task of providing technical support and service for business partners in the great China region and Asia-Pacific region, by accomplishing various R&D tasks with its highly adaptive procedure. In June 2008, R&D new lab has been put into use. Position1: 4G Simulation System Designer

(Work Location: Guangzhou)

Responsibility:

- 4G simulator development including simulator functional architecture, libraries

- 4G simulation algorithms development, define and derive technical requirements based on feature contents and customer requirements.

- Development of the verification procedures and test cases in order to validate compliance to requirements.

- Conduct simulations and provide analysis and recommendations based on simulation results to feed into product design, standards, and customers.

- Provide systems design input (requirements, algorithms, procedures, guidelines) to SW designers

- Author and review of technical documentation/report of the domain ownership area.

Requirements:

Masters or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering

Expert in broadband wireless communications, with emphasis on 4G (WiMax, LTE, UMB) technologies: OFDMA, MIMO, signaling processing, advance receiver techniques, advanced antenna techniques is preferred

Previous experiences in 3G (EVDO, UMTS, HSPA, etc.) are also valuable

Familiar with 4G standards

Excellent technical knowledge in wireless protocols: Physical, MAC, and upper layers is preferred.

Expertise in wireless simulations and modeling: channel models, mobility, performance/capacity evaluation, algorithm development.

Fluent spoken English and good writing skill

Digital Comm theory, channel coding, channel estimation, Filtering & Detection, Queuing, Network and Probability theory, Random processes and Signal Processing.

Experience (either academic or industrial) in algorithm development is required. Previous use of OPNET, Matlab, and C or C++ is preferred.

Experience in DSP software development & implementation is highly desirable.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and work effectively across multi-functional teams

Position2: 4G Simulation System Senior Designer

(Work Location: Guangzhou)

Responsibility:

- 4G Simulation software development planning based on the requirements from internal and external customers, developing and capturing the derived technical and functional Requirements for the projects.

- Lead and drive simulation SW development including simulator functional architecture, libraries, simulation integrations, algorithms development, and simulator capacity/performance specification.

- Lead the development of the verification document and the overall test strategy of the sw features that impact owned domain in order to validate compliance to requirements.

- Provide analysis and recommendations based on simulation results to feed into product design, standards, and customers.

- Act as the point of contact interacting with multiple functional teams for requests to review project deliverables

- Prime the creation and review of Design Effort (DE).

- Advise, mentor and train other system designers working in the domain.

- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation of the domain ownership area.

- Key reviewer of all design Documentations relating to the owned domain

Requirements:

Master or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering

Expert in broadband wireless communications, with emphasis on 4G (WiMax, LTE, UMB) technologies: OFDMA, MIMO, signaling processing, advanced receiver techniques, advanced antenna techniques is preferred
