Intel EMPG is hiring an intern as user researcher in Shanghai office.

1.Job description

Background:

. Intel EMPG (Emerging Markets Platform Group) is looking for an intern in Sha

nghai office who can assist on user research projects in China through March t

o June in 2008. The intern will be to primarily assist EMPG researchers (espec

ially those in Shanghai) to understand PRC market and user needs by ethnograph

ic field work. The intern is also expected to work with multi-disciplinary tea

m (industrial designers, architecture, etc) for platform definition and innova

tion.

Job requirements:

. Must be a graduate student (or equivalent qualification), and major in socia

l sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Factors, Education, etc

)

. Familiar with ethnographic field study process and methodologies. Having pro

ject experience in this area is a plus.

. Familiar with China education system or with working experience in education

background or projects is a plus.

. Passion for user research, sympathy for our users, hard-working attitude, be

lief in changing people’s life through our endeavor

. Fluent in both Chinese and English (written and oral)

. Be able to travel

2. Timeline and work place

. The intern is expected to be ready to work from early March to end of June.

. Work place is Intel Shanghai Zizhu site.
