TE For SQL Server

Job Overview: You will be part of our SQL Server Common lab and Test Execution team, which owns the SQL Server common lab and test. You will have an opportunity to work closely with the teams in headquarter to delivery the lab and test execution service for the whole SQL Server Product Group. The key responsibilities include:

l Kick-off and monitor the test runs, including but not limited to functional, stress, and performance test.

l Need to do initial investigation for test failures. Communicate with all functional teams in headquarter, and help them with figuring out what causes test failures

l Manage lab machines, fix the problems, and keep the common lab healthy

l Communicate with teams in headquarter and have hand-off for all ongoing test runs every day; report to function team the TE status.

l Contribute to the test tools development.

Qualifications:

l Strong knowledge of windows OS: experienced with windows server management tools, solid understanding of OS concepts (such as memory and process management, kernel mode/user mode, network technology, client/server communication. etc), good understanding of windows VM mechanism.

l Strong trouble-shooting skill for OS and database problems

l Rich knowledge and experience in database. Candidate who has knowledge and experience in SQL Server or other RDBMS will be preferred.

l Good working Knowledge of computer networking and Internet related technologies like TCP/IP, HTTP/FTP protocols, Web Services, COM+, XML, , SOAP are required.

l Lab management experience is preferred

l Proficiency level of written and verbal English skill.

l Excellent communication skills (within/across teams) in English are needed.

l Quick-learning, problem solving and self-challenging

l Passion for high quality software

l BS/MS degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

l Strong programming skills (such as C++, C#, .NET Framework, XML, etc) is preferred.

l 1+ years working experiences in software testing and development
