Software Development manager in Test Automation

This is an exciting hands on position with a high growth software company in the fast moving field of data security and is based in our Zhuhai, China office. Protegrity is a recognized industry leader with major customers and a significant intellectual property portfolio, growing in excess of 100% per year.

Protegrity is consolidating its international quality initiative and creating an Engineering Test group. We are looking for a Software Development Manager in Test Automation to work closely with development to expand our automated test suites, perform system benchmarks, and identify and relieve performance bottlenecks. Your duties will focus on leading a team of software engineers developing automated tests, developing test applications, executing and maintaining automated test suites, setting up test environments and analyzing test results. In addition, you will be responsible of exploring new ways of automating security efficacy testing. Strong candidates will have coding and testing experience well beyond GUI based.

The successful candidate will work closely with QA & Engineering to create and execute a massive automated test environment. To succeed, the SDET team must increase our test throughput, while reducing risk and increasing quality. Because our products support a huge matrix of operating systems, databases and file systems, this is a unique opportunity to apply automation on a massive scale with business changing consequences.

Requirements:
- Strong understanding of testing processes in a process driven environment
- 5+ years of System and application level QA experience.
- 2+ years experience leading a team of software engineers doing test automation.
- Experience in bug tracking systems (Bugzilla, TestDirector).
- Good proficiency/experience in working on Unix/Linux and/or Windows
- Good shell scripting skills. Perl, Ruby, SQL, and JUnit a plus
- Expertise in at least 2 of these areas: DBMS, web application technology, web application firewall, networking (e.g. sockets, tcp/ip, HTTP, etc…), Load Tests.
- Extensive experience designing and performing test cases. (security related applications a plus)
- Good understanding of file system filters, databases, or web application firewalls
- Excellent working knowledge of QA and Development processes
- Able to define and implement QA strategy and document QA processes and procedures
- Comfortable working in a highly distributed environment on many racks of machines
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelors in CS, EE or similar field expected, advanced degree is a plus
- Detail oriented, able to thrive in a fast moving environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality software on time, as part of a team
- Superb interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of employees, across geographic and cultural boundaries

Advantages:

- Experience with multiple databases, device drivers & web application firewalls
- Exposure to distributed, enterprise multi-tier systems; GUI & backend functional testing
- Experience with international operations of a software product company
- Experience with virtualization
