职位描述
Responsibilities:
This is a development role within a team developing client server solutions for network management centres. The role is to design, develop and maintain the Installation, Upgrade, of Informix and related databases of the product.

The role requires a thorough understanding of Informix and database administration and related tasks.

Key Tasks include:
1.Implementing new software features &enhancements in accordance with the Software Development Lifecycle (Code, Documentation & Test)
2.Participation in technical reviews of own and
others work.
3.Leading others within a team in developing
features
4.Involvement in process improvement activities
5.Support customer Software release rollout
activities.

Skills:
1. Familiar with all aspects of the installation and configuration of Informix 9 and Informix 10.
2. Good knowledge of scripting – in particular sh, ksh and perl
3. Advanced knowledge of SQL.
4. Experience in developing Job Specifications and utilisation of the High Performance Loader for both loading and unloading data.
5. Skilled in the administration of Informix databases including the following areas at a minimum:
o Capacity planning.
o Tuning all aspects of the database engine including shared memory components, virtual processors and disk components.
o Tuning SQL statements and experienced in the analysis of explain plans.
o Configuring the logical and physical logs.
o Managing fragmented table and index structures.
6. Experienced with backup and recovery strategies.
7. Experienced in upgrading database software and the database schemas.
The following would also be advantageous:
8. Some experience with stored procedures and ESQL/C would be a distinct advantage
9. A thorough knowledge of the Solaris operating system is desirable.
10. XML (desirable)
11. Knowledge of/Experience with Telecomms
