Microcode Software Engineer
Working location: Beijing
Job Description
The qualified candidate will join Spirent Communication WiMax Solutions – SpiMax China team as a microcode software engineer. He/She will have opportunities to work with different SpiMax product/business groups on various R&D locations, mainly focusing on microcode programming.
Qualification
Educational background and working experience
Must hold Master degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Must be comfortable with working in a fast paced environment.
Technical skills
Practical microcode programming(coding/debugging) experience on Network Processor is a must.
Technical depth in Operating System kernels and drivers such as Linux, experience in device driver development under Linux would be a plus.
Deep knowledge on CPU architecture and experience on one or more Intel architectures such as IA-32, Xscale or IXA is a plus.
Solid knowledge and experiences of software engineering methodology such as Product Life Cycle is a plus.
Knowledge of software testing methodology is a plus.
Knowledge of BIOS, firmware, PCI, PCI Express and USB is a good plus.
Solid understanding of all layers of the OSI interconnect model and TCP/IP network stacks. Hands on development capability of wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, 802.11x, 802.16d/e or telecommunication such as the signaling or the cellular related will be highly preferred.
Experience in hardware design and implementation is a good plus.
Soft skills
Fluent spoken and written English is preferred.
Strong sense on team work, customer orientation, quality and discipline is highly preferred.

DSP / RF Engineer (URGENT)
Position Description:
WiMAX is an exciting new broadband wireless access technology that promises to deliver high-speed data rates within a metropolitan area network in both stationary and mobile scenarios with reduced costs to providers and Enterprises. It has broad support among chip suppliers,
telecom equipment manufacturers and service providers. As a member of a team, the candidate will participate in the design and development of a new WiMAX performance test system. Specifically, they will be responsible for the development of portions of a WiMAX PHY.
The candidate will be expected to work in a collaborative team environment where tasks and responsibilities are shared between team members, and good software engineering disciplines are exercised.
Major Responsibilities:
Quickly learn code base of externally supplied WiMAX PHY reference design
Design and development of various modules interfacing to PHY reference design including PHY/MAC and RF interfaces.
Make modifications to various 802.16 OFDMA baseband elements to fix bugs and add feature enhancements
Create a complete debug environment through simulation, real-time probes and graphical elements to plot constellation, phase, etc.
Generate engineering physical layer requirements and functional specifications
Participate in design and code reviews
Develop complete and fully debugged physical layer code
Support system integration and troubleshooting efforts.
Qualifications Desired:
Education: BSEE, BSCE, BSCS or equivalent 4-year degree
Skills (Hardware, Software, Machine operations, etc.):
Required:
Strong experience with mainstream DSP platforms and some development with FPGA’s
Proven ability to code in assembly, C and VHDL
Experience controlling radio subsystems and general RF knowledge
Expertise in digital signal processing and baseband processing algorithms
Understanding of RF communications and principles
Ability to create Matlab simulations of various signal processing blocks
Hands-on experience using signal generators and vector signal analyzer hardware/software
Proven ability designing, implementing, debugging, and understanding complex hardware/firmware systems
A self-starter and self-directed
Desired:
Development experience in 802.11/16, OFDM/OFDMA, or 2G/3G wireless technologies
FPGA/Verilog working knowledge
