Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for software development of an embedded platform and applications for Motorola subscriber products, primarily focus on implementation of application software development, device drivers, etc.

Qualification

l BS degree or above in computer science or related engineering fields.

l Strong software development skill and experience in OOA&D (be familiar with the typical design patterns and MVC)

l Strong knowledge in C/C++, Java and GUI programming skill. Knowledge of OO.

l In-depth understanding and experience with SVG programming;

l Solid understating of scripting languages, preferably JavaScript, such as Python, Ruby, etc.

l Familiar with XML and associated technologies (CSS, Schema, DOM).

l Solid understanding of software fundamentals, including multithreading, remote procedure calls, memory management, and compilation/optimization.

l Good programming/software engineering awareness and enjoy technical challenges;

l Development experience on Linux operating system.

l Very good problem solving and debugging skills.

l Proficiency in written and oral English.

l Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good team spirit and adaptability.

Following skills and experiences would be a strong advantage:

l Handset and PDA platforms or applications development

l Profound knowledge, understanding and practice in embedded software system

l Qt/E on Embedded systems

l Connected to the development community through forums, blogs, user groups, etc.

l Eclipse, gdb/ddd, and Linux debugging tools

l Configuration & change management tools (ClearCase, ClearDDTS, Bugzilla, etc.)

l Experience on an international project and interaction with international staffs

l Basic understanding on software engineering process/procedure and CMM/CMMI philosophy

l Knowledge of Ajax, XAML, Flash, and other Rich Internet Applications experience is a plus.

l Knowledge of layout tools and engines and toolkits such as XUL, Gecko, KHTML, Qt./KDE, or GTK/Gnome

Sr. Uint test Engineer

Basic Qualifications

BS degree in Software Engineering
2 or moreyears of professional experience as a software engineer
Scope of Responsibilities

Design, development and support of software for Motorola mobile devices.
Authoring of software component design documentation
Authoring and execution of software component test cases
Development and execution of C++ automated tests
Development of demonstation applications using C++
Review and provide critical feedback on software requirements
Specific Knowledge/Skills

2 or more years C++ development, Linux or embedded development experience a plus
Basic experience and working knowledge of general data structures and algorithms
Experience with the use of GNU C++ development tools, including gcc, gdb and the GNU linker
Basic understanding of software configuration management principles, such as version control, branch management, merging and conflict resolution. Experience using ClearCase a plus.
Working knowledge of basic Linux environment tools, including perl and shell scripting.
Good English communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Written examples (design documentation, test cases, etc.) must be provided.
