Responsibilities:

• Responsible for understanding the technical relationship between the Specialty Material product properties and the customer’s process requirements.
• Develop an understanding of the fitness for use criteria for each customer’s specific end use and be able to relate these criteria to the T&I, Process Engineering and manufacturing organizations.
• Responsible for troubleshooting/analyzing of the customer’s processes to determine if problems are due to the Specialty Material product or the customer’s process conditions.
• Train the customers manufacturing operators on the best practices for using the Specialty Materials products, assist in conducting trials at customers of new products.
• Help train the Specialty Materials sales staff on the technical aspects of the products as well as the customer’s processes.
• Understand the competitive product offerings and work with the analytical labs to develop the technical product properties of competitive offerings.
• Attendance at Trade Shows, and participate in Trade Associations including the writing of technical specifications which would serve as industry standards.
• Work as consultants to the BDM’s to outline resource requirements & cost estimates need to develop new product lines.
• Assist in troubleshoot customer problems
• Assist in evaluating Quality issues should the Quality group be unable to address normal/routine manufacturing issues.
• Will be able to assist in understanding the costs components of the Specialty Materials products by developing an understanding of product attributes.
• A significant amount of travel is required which may include starting trials at customer’s plants without regular schedule.

Requirements:
• BS in Engineering or equivalent field experience with a BS in a technical field.
• BS degree in marketing or an MBA would be a plus.
• Strong Technical and selling skills with an outstanding ability to understand and translate customer needs to product attributes.
• Skilled with a technical/scientific approach to problem solving when working with customers with the ability to identify the technical product attributes linked to customer fitness-for-use requirements.
• Experience with films and/or foams is desired.
• Experience with technical troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal skill set required to work under pressure in customer’s plants in solving problems.
• Ability to work across multiple markets and set priorities.
