Major Responsibilities:Project ControlMonitor issues & give early warning of any major hazards to projectsPresent product launch to commodity teamIssue capacity statement from supplier based on known volumeConfirm capacity capability through joint meetings with SDEEstablish component level expected ppm target based on customer expected targetArrange regular supplier reviews & visit key suppliers to ensure project is on trackMonitor drawing & BOM releases from engineering to ensure timely transition & planningIssue regular updates on project status to commodity teamIdentify long lead times to commodity team & agree a management planOrganize regular commodity team reviewsEnsure commodity purchasing/procurement are aware of build demands & customer expectationsSupport DV/PV builds Represent purchasing in the GDPIM processRepresent purchasing tin the CQA processRepresent purchasing in the VAVE process and co
-ordinate purchasing input with commodity teams and core development NPICost ControlIssue BOMs to commodity teamTrack changes in BOM & recordIdentify target costs & trackMonitor scrap/liability costs where applicable & ensure charge back to project teamEnsure product cost is achieving commercial & business case expectationsIdentify to engineering opportunities to take cost out to the productTrack tool costs & amortizationConfirm with estimating the business case born can be supported with identified quotations & pricing agreementsLiaise with commodity purchasing to obtain initial pricing based on known volume profileComponent selection/controlSupply technology roadmaps to engineeringIdentify PPAP/AQPQ requirements & manage process with SDEMonitor APQP progress and regularly review with suppliers & SDEConfirm that parts selected are acceptable for automotive applications & are suitable for manufacturing processesGuide & influence engineering component selections to meet strategic supply list Confirm life cycle of partsReview with engineering design phases & component change requirementsLiaise with commodity purchasing to ensure LOI/Purchase orders are issued in a timely mannerReporting & GeneralSubmit/present reports on project status as and when requested by Product Purchasing managerSubmit/present reports on project status to Exec Management as and when requiredSupport the NPI team on other projects as and when requestedLocation of the roleTravel to TRW sites will be required – Asia Pacific & GlobalTravel to supplier sites will be required – Asia Pacific & GlobalRole is expected to be located at the relevant engineering center applicable to the portfolioKey Competencies:Awareness of the nature of business/corporate strategy and a much greater understanding of the appropriateness of different purchasing strategiesA broad understanding of the product and the market cost drivers for such a portfolioA broad understanding of the nature of supply market structures. Detailed knowledge of commercial and contract law.Familiar with Quality Management tools such as APQP, PPAP, Problem Analysis Tools, etc.Fluency in the English languageGood communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to express a subject clearly and understandable and to persuade others.
