Position Title: Project Engineer(Trip Optimizer)
Level/Band: Professional
Location: Shanghai, China
Functions/Responsibilities:
Provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned obje
ctives. Works within defined parameters to make decisions and apply concepts t
o issues of moderate complexity. Has the ability to resolve issues through imm
ediate action or short-term planning.
• Identifies customers requirement (technical/products problems, executi
on issues) and suggests solutions.
• Attends customer meetings (kick off, coordination review, close out et
c.).
• Coordinates technical issues with customer.
• Assists with data collection and presentation to engineering in suppor
t of technical decisions.
• Participates in design reviews with the engineering team.
• Ensures the proper understanding of technical customer needs inside th
e GE organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• MS/BS in EE/CS or Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded control system design or wir
eless application design
• Minimum 1 year experience working with Matlab, Matrix X or other model
ing software.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently with short notice.
• Experience in various communication protocols (i.e. Ethernet).
• Experience in real-time embedded system (i.e. QNX).
• Experience in hardware/software integration testing & validation.
Desired:
• Additional experience in an engineering position is preferred
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred
• Sound analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong bilingual oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Proven ability to interact with customers successfully
• PC proficiency
• Experience with locomotive control systems is preferred.
• Experience with locomotive operations – dispatch, crew, and signaling
is preferred.
