Job Responsibilities:

To become increasingly familiar with the company's value base and to take an active role in continuous improvement in our pursuit of excellence.

Responsible for developing major new applications or R&D projects of limited number, size, and scope with some supervision from an advisor and other more experienced personnel.

Responsible for the design of new products and manufacturing until they become current production.

Responsible to support Product Engineering during pilot production phase, and to document and communicate engineering understanding and details to Production and Manufacturing Engineering.

Responsible to develop and demonstrate competence in areas of manufacturing process design and product engineering.

Act as a local mechanical engineering resource and customer interface in Taiwan for US based company.

Strong ability to interact with US business development, engineering and manufacturing team.

Must be able to efficiently track action items, deliverables and the flow of engineering documentation.

Recommend and communicate design changes and oversee customer testing activities.

Must show strong customer interaction skills including listening, communication, writing and development of customer requirements. Also must arrange and conduct customer meetings as need.

Creates new designs and sample documentation for new applications and responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the new drawing.

Assures that new designs will meet customer prints, requirements and products to be reliable, easily manufacturable, and low cost.

Responsible for design and implementation of life tests for new applications to ensure that new designs will meet customer life and performance requirements.

Responsible for designing and conducting tests quantifying new application performance over expected range of operating conditions and manufacturing variability.

Assures that new drawings meet the needs of Sales, Manufacturing, Process Control and Quality Services.

Establishes complete and accurate bills of material, designs, and prints for products upon receipt of tooling order in a timely fashion.

Assures that all new drawings meet the needs of Sales, Manufacturing, Process Control and Quality Services.

Responsible for manufacturing process design and interfaces with manufacturing as required to solve design issues.

Gives engineering approval when designs are released for manufacturing.

Coordinates aspects of a new application as needed such as tooling, customer and supplier contact, scheduling, quoting, and supplier selection.

Initiates customer and supplier contact as required to resolve any and all questions concerning new designs.

Obtains engineering data for sales in response to customer requests.
Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

Ability to solve problems

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.

Fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese (written and oral)

3D CAD design experience (Solidworks preferred)

Coursework in manufacturing methods, engineering design, strength of materials and finite element analysis required

Ability and willingness to travel to US and PRC
