Position Summary:
This is an entry to mid level Software Quality Assurance Engineering position.
Under minimal supervision, this individual will work in conjunction with the
Quality Assurance, Development and Tech Pubs groups to further the testing ef
forts and contribute to the assessment of product quality and release readines
s for the Civil products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated tests using Borland
SilkTest and other development tools as necessary.
• Timely and accurate reporting of test results to team members and mana
gement.
• Participate in defect management process.
• Perform Application Programming Interface testing.
• Maintain technology expertise, research, utilize, and apply state-of-t
he-art software testing tools and practices.
• Other tasks as required.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or e
quivalent experience.
• General knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and the Software
Development Life Cycle.
• Strong knowledge of C++ (or other programming language), Object Orient
ed Programming, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
• Must have a detail-oriented, adaptable approach to problem analysis an
d solution definition..
• Must be proactive with a proven track record of delivering on assignme
nts independently and have the ability to work under pressure.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize track and acc
urately estimate completion time of numerous simultaneous tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
• Must show flexibility under changing conditions and work well with tea
ms.
• Experience with various testing methodologies and/or automated testing
practices are highly desired.
• Knowledge of Boundschecker, TruCoverage or SilkTest is a plus.
• Experience with 3D graphics or vector systems is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a plus.
Experience with AutoCAD or Civil Engineering is a plus.
