ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

GELcore, a GE business, is a Light Emitting Diode (LED) based lighting systems company. As a member of the GELcore

Technology team, the project Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for taking projects from concept to full production.

Tasks include modeling, design trade-off studies, material selection, tolerance analysis, structural and thermal analysis, documentation, verification testing, supplier interaction, and product support as required.

The typical range of projects involves mechanical component design, electro-mechanical design, electronic packaging, industrial design, as well as structural and thermal analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering ;

Experience in a design related field;

Experience in solid modeling;

Self-motivated and driven to achieve stretch goals;

Excellent team player;

Excellent oral and writing skills. (English).

DESIRED:

Advanced degree preferred (M.S. or M.E. in Mechanical, or PhD / Doctor of Engineering);

Experience turning a concept into a finished part;

Experience with Solid-Works and/or Pro-E;

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing;

Experience with electronic connector and terminal design;

Experience with plastic part design using injection molding;

Experience writing requirements, specifications, and test plans ;

Six Sigma Green belt certified.
