1. Feature Test Engineer
====================================================================
Join our diverse team involved in testing several next generation
Cisco products. Test Engineers will work with many L2 switching
and L3 routing features, IOS security, network management,
and metro Ethernet features. Some of the Cisco platforms we develop
are the Catalyst 2960, 3550, 3650, 3750,
and Blade and Metro Ethernet switches.

Job responsibilities include one or more the following:
- Define the detail testing strategies for new hardware
platforms and new software releases
- Interface with development teams to understand the
product and feature, participate in functional specification
reviews, Engineering product requirements reviews,
release note and user guide reviews, and provide feedback
- Design and document the well defined feature test plan
based on fully understanding feature functional specifications,
feature deployment scenarios and use cases, the test plans
include CLI configuration, functionality, integration, stress,
performance, interoperability and negative test cases
- Execute tests, log test progress in our online application,
file bugs, troubleshoot, reproduce problems, and verify fixes
- Proficiently use traffic generation tools, packet analyzer
tools and SNMP management software, etc.
- Configure network components and use network services
in MS Windows OS and Linux OS in test environments
- Be able to write simple scripts by using scripting languages,
such as Tcl/Tk and Unix Shell programming, in test environments
- Provide guidance to automation engineers for test script
development
- Work closely with DE and TAC in recreation and resolution of
customer reported problems
- Participate in the test escape analysis process and refine test
process and/or regression test suites
- Help, train or mentor other team members as needed

Skills Required
- In-depth knowledge of internetwork protocols, especially
TCP/IP protocol suite including IPv4 and IPv6, and knowledge
of the 7-Layer OSI model
- Experience with Physical Layer and Data link Layer protocols,
such as 802.3, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet,
Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) including PVST, RSTP and MSTP,
802.1q, Vlan, etc.
- Experience with Network Layer protocols,
such as RIPv1, RIPv2, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP, etc,
and IP Multicast protocols, such as PIM, IGMP, DVMRP,
MLD (Multicast Listener Discovery),
and Network Management protocols like SNMP.
- Exposure to one or more of the following protocols and
technologies:

- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS is a must.
- Software Testing: writing test plans, designing test cases

Educational Background
Typically requires BSEE/CS or a MSEE/CS combined with years

2. Electrical Engineer – CAD Application

Job Description
This position is responsible for complete, quality design of
complex, dense, high-speed, high volume, double sided surface
mount printed circuit boards using Cadence Allegro, Specctra
and Destiny routing tools and DFM (Adiva or Valor) verification
tools. You will work closely with hardware engineers to implement
design requirements of highly complex board layouts. You will
also work closely with compliance, thermal, mechanical, safety,
ICT and manufacturing engineers to ensure that Cisco standards
for quality, DFM / DFA / DFT, safety and compliance are met.
You will provide the project team with design schedules and
status updates.

Skills Required
- BSEE with 5+ years, or MSEE with 3+ years, of experience
working with Cadence Allegro tools
- Extensive experience in PCB design including placement,
routing and fab/assembly/post process documentation.
- Knowledge of PCB construction and experience in PCB design
utilizing surface mount, high-density double-sided technologies
and the latest fabrication technologies such as HDI, micro-via
and alternative board materials.
- Familiar with EMI compliance considerations, high-speed signal
integrity challenges, critical net routing, thermal and
mechanical issues as well as design for high volume
manufacturability and test.
- Extensive expertise with either Cadence or Mentor design tools,
including either Specctra or Destination autorouters is required.
- Rich independent working experience of high speed signal
routing and integrity challenges, general EMC and high volume
FAB design is required. The strong knowledge of HDI design,
PCB fab process and advanced technologies is also requested.
- Fluent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Valor and/or Adiva DFM/DFA tools is preferred.

3. Electrical Engineer – CAD Library

Job Description
Candidates will work closely with all disciplines of the hardware
design arena to implement requirements from the High-end Router
Library Development team, HW engineering, power, mechanical, and
manufacturing to insure that both the design requirements and
Cisco producibility standards for PCB fabrication, assembly and
test are met. Engage with entire Project/Library teams to provide
schedule estimates, design status, communicating challenges,
presenting solutions.

You will be responsible for mining datasheets within Cisco and
externally to be used for all symbol creation and datamining for
other design tools to leverage. You will create logic symbols
used for schematic capture which adhere to Cisco design standards
and test them through PCB for verification purposes, build and
design physical footprints to industry and Cisco standards for
all technologies. You will also provide the library team with
options when design requirements create design and manufacturing
conflict and compromise is necessary.

Skills Required
- BSEE with 5+ years, or MSEE with 3+ years, of Library and PCB
industry related experience
- Have expertise with Mentor’s EPD DxDesigner/DxDatabook schematic
capture tool, and Cadence Allegro Version 14.X or above.

Participates on a project team of engineers responsible for the
specification, design, development, test, enhancement, and sustaining
of networking hardware. Responsible for board level architecture design
and writes functional specs. Develops complex circuit designs for multiple
modules incorporating newly developed custom ASICs. Designs moderate
complexity programmable logic or FPGA. Responsible for the evaluation,
selection, and qualification of complex components that may include
newly developed technology. Partners with CAD and Manufacturing Engineers
in developing new boards. Identifies and develops board level simulations
where necessary. Work independently without direction but also interface

13. Hardware Design Verification Engineer

- Working on Cisco Router/Switch hardware design verification.
Work with hardware design team to validate electrical and
optical design both at component as well as system level
- Design and develop component and system level diagnostics
software/firmware for system, board, FPGA and ASIC design
verification and validation in engineering and manufacturing.
- Develop boot code, low level device/network drivers,

15. ASIC Design for Test (DFT) Engineer ----Hareware II/III/IV

Job Description
Hardware Engineers who participate in the design of complex,
high performance and high integration ASICs used in Cisco
storage/data center switch products. Implement Design for
Test strategy into the ASICs and responsible for ASIC DFT
sign off. Participate in driving new DFT methodology and
solutions to improve quality of the ASIC, reliability and
in system test and debug capability.

Daily responsibilities include:
-Implement basic DFT schemes in terms of BIST, scan, boundary
scan on ASICs.
-Generate tests which achieve highest possible ASIC component
test coverage with lowest overhead.
-Verify all DFT logics and test patterns with simulation and
static timing analysis tool.
-Implement and verify advanced DFT logics like logic BIST,
high speed interface test logic etc.
-Participate in new DFT methodology discussion and solution
generation.
-Work with ASIC design team in ASIC bring up.

Skills Required
-Good knowledge in Design for Test in general. Understand
the concepts of BIST, SCAN, Boundary Scan, ATPG.
-Experience in ASIC DFT design, Testability, and Reliability
issues.
-Hands on familiarity with various ASIC DFT analysis,
synthesis, and verification tools.
-Familiar with fault coverage and board/system testability
analysis and enhancement technique, DFT economics
analysis/justification technique.
-Hands on knowledge of simulation and verification debug tools.
-Good knowledge of test engineering in terms of ASIC test
program generation, understanding of testers and associated
hardware is a plus.
-Working knowledge using Verilog HDL languages and tools,
scripting and programming languages (Perl, TCL, C and C++).
-Excellent written and verbal communications, team and people skills.

Educational Background

Hardware II: Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 3+ years experience,

or BSEE/CS combined with 5+ yrs experience.

Hardware III: Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 5+ years experience
,
or BSEE/CS combined with 7+ yrs experience.

Hardware IV: Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 7+ years experience,
