Motorola China Research Center is a point of presence of Motorola Labs in
China, reporting to the Human Interaction Center of Excellence. Its
mission is to create a series of human interaction technology components
and provide global business units with integrated solutions. Our research
topics include multi-lingual handwriting recognition, intelligent input
methods, automatic speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, natural
language generation, and image/video understanding.
The successful candidate will join the pattern recognition research team
of MCRC. He/She will work with experienced researchers in the area of
image/video processing and pattern recognition. The responsibilities
include, advanced algorithm research on image/video processing,
application software and tools development, high quality patent
disclosure and publication submission, technical report written, and
junior researcher supervision etc.

2 senior researcher position
As a senior researcher, the successful candidates should
have PhD degree (or are expected to have PhD degree in the year 2007) in
computer science or electrical engineering from a well-known university,
or a leading academic institution. We expect the candidate to be an
active contributor in his/her field, with excellent academic records,
contributions that led to innovative products, or significant patent or
publications. The specific skills required for this position include
image processing, digit signal processing, pattern recognition, and
strong mathematics knowledge. Computer programming skills preferably in
C, C++, or matlab is highly desirable. Excellent English/Chinese writing
and presentation skills are required. Relocation in Shanghai is a default
requirement.

1 research engineer position
The successful candidate will join the pattern recognition research team
of MCRC. He/she should have master degree in CS/EE from a well-known
university, and be
1. Good at C/C++ coding;
2. Experienced in application development for embedded system (embedded
Linux, Windows CE, Symbian, etc);
3. Experienced in GUI application development (Qt, Gtk, etc);
4. Familiar with version control tools (clearcase, CVS, etc)
