Looking for Sourcing Consultants.

procurAsia is a company providing industrial sourcing services to Western ente
rprises. We are looking for interns to work as sourcing consultants, in Shang
hai, on part time basis. We are considering a university internship. There a
re opportunities to extend the internship into a full time employment contract
later on.

Overall job description

The consultants will work between 3 to 5 days a week at our office. They will
participate in a range of specific sourcing projects. The duration of the pr
oject will be between 3 and 8 weeks each time.

During each project, the sourcing consultants will work under the supervision
of a project manager and will identify a large amount of suppliers for the pro
ject, pre-screen these suppliers and participate in the qualification of these
suppliers.

Consultants will be compensated based on the number of days worked.

Consultant Activities will include the following activities:
- Understand client product requirement.
- Identify supplier, by using procurAsia’s databases, web directories and any
other means.
- Contact suppliers by phone and email in order to gather more information on
them and prepare a supplier report.
- Organize and participate in supplier factory visits to perform detailed eval
uation.
- Participate in request for quotation to suppliers and quotation analysis.

General Requirements and Personal Skills

The candidates will:
- hold an undergraduate degree in engineering and be a master graduate student at the
moment (either in engineering or management – graduation for master between Sep 2007 an
d Mar 2008);
- be available to work between 3 and 5 days per week for a duration of at leas
t 4 to 6 months.
- have a good knowledge of spoken and written English (give score of CET-6 or
above, TOEFL, GMAT, TOEIC);
- be outgoing and easily communicate with others;
- be a detailed oriented, thorough and organized person;

Technical competences

The consultant will have competence in one of the fields listed below.

Electronics
Electronic systems. For example: System and subsystem for automation and cont
rol; Telecom and datacom systems; IT/computer related systems.
Electronic system manufacturing. For example: PCB assembly; PBA assembly and
outsourcing; PBA design; OEM and ODM ; PBA assembly manufacturing process and
tools.

Electronic components. For example: Passive components; ASICs, micro-electron
ic systems; Standard sub-systems; Hybrids; Electronics modules;

Electrical and Electromechanical
Electrical and power systems for machines. For example: power distribution ca
binets; Industrial circuit breakers; Protection; Power supplies; Electrical mo
tors; Power electronics, Motor starters, Frequency converters;
Grid or factory power distribution systems. For example: Power Transformers;
High voltage/current protection and circuit breakers; Industrial UPS; Inverter
s;

Mechanical
Metal forming techniques. For example: Stamping; bending; steel and aluminum
welding; incl CAD drawing reading;
Machinery building. For example: Machine tool and production equipment buildi
ng; Machine assembly techniques; Electrical motors and motor starters; Power t
ransmission (gears, drive, reducers); Safety systems; Control systems; CAD dra
wing reading.
